Sport Relief effort set to end on a high! Posted On 23 March 2018

This year’s one billion step challenge for Sport Relief enters its last day today – and the event culminates with a celebration of everything achieved this week, on BBC One tonight at 7pm

Broadcasting live from Salford, a host of famous faces will come together for the big night of TV with some stepping into new and unfamiliar territory all in the name of entertainment and fundraising!

The show will kick off at 7pm with Gary Lineker, Davina McCall and Ore Oduba. Later on Paddy McGuinness, Claudia Winkleman and Freddie Flintoff will take on presenting duties as the fun rolls into the early hours.

The night will also take a look into how money raised through Sport Relief can help vulnerable people in the UK and across the world live happier, healthier, safer lives.

Sport Relief is a biennial charity event born from the Comic Relief organisation, with the Sport Relief Mile being at the heart of the campaign, encouraging members of the public to get involved and contribute to the fundraising campaign – whether it be running, walking, jogging, wheeling, bouncing or even crawling over the finish line!

The Sport Relief Mile campaign also pays homage to Sir Roger Bannister’s first sub-four-minute mile. Bannister was a British middle-distance athlete, doctor and academic who ran the first sub-four-minute mile on 6th May 1954, sixty four years ago!
